Lid and base
Two pieces that fit together, with an optional shoulder for a neat reveal.
Rigid gift boxes, magnetic closure boxes and printed folding cartons for launches, gifting and retail shelves.

A rigid or folding box is often the first thing a customer holds. We help you choose the structure, board and finish that suit the product, the price point and the channel.
Rigid boxes are made from thick greyboard wrapped in printed paper. Folding cartons use lighter paperboard and are printed flat, which suits larger runs.
We start from what goes inside the box and work outward, so the structure protects the product and the finish reflects your brand.

Dense recycled board, 1,200–2,000 gsm, the core of every rigid box.
Wrapped in printed paper; thickness is chosen for the box size.

Layered paperboard, 250–450 gsm, with a white printing surface.
The standard choice for folding cartons and food-service boxes.

Smooth, bright paper that reproduces colour and fine detail accurately.
Available in gloss, satin and matt; pairs well with lamination.

Strong, natural-toned paper with a visible fibre, brown or white-bleached.
Ink looks softer on brown kraft, so we proof colours on the actual sheet.

A velvety film that feels warm and premium in the hand.
Ideal for rigid boxes and beauty; test handling before large runs.

Metallic or coloured foil pressed onto the surface with heat.
Best on logos and fine lines; available in gold, silver and colours.

A thin non-reflective film that protects the print and gives a calm, even surface.
Deepens dark colours; can show scuffs on very dark designs.

A glossy coating applied to chosen areas to make them catch the light.
Strongest contrast on matte or dark backgrounds.
Rigid boxes cost more per unit than folding cartons because they are assembled by hand. Finishes such as foil and embossing add tooling costs that spread thinner as quantities grow.
When you ask for a quote, ask for two or three quantities on it. The unit price usually falls faster than people expect.
